2024年6月6日、スイス、ジュネーブ - 世界経済フォーラムは、2024年テクノロジー・パイオニアを発表しました。新たに参画する100社の先端技術スタートアップ企業は、クリーンなエネルギーソリューションの開発、ヘルスケアのイノベーション、そしてAIの新たな進歩を応用したバイオテクノロジー、宇宙、ニューロテクノロジーの推進に焦点を合わせています。これらの企業は、今後2年間にわたり、同フォーラムのグローバルなイニシアチブに最先端の知見と専門知識を提供して、その影響力の拡大を支援します。
この分野における最近のブレークスルーに刺激を受け、今年のコホートは産業や政府における持続可能性とより公平な意思決定を推進するためにAIとデータを活用。急速な技術開発が進む今日のダイナミックな状況において、テクノロジー・パイオニア・コミュニティは、より良い未来を形作るために不可欠な変革の可能性と起業家精神を体現しています。

2024年テクノロジー・パイオニアには23カ国のスタートアップ企業が選出。その3分の1は女性最高経営責任者が率いています。過去最多の応募があった今年は、大きなブレークスルーを起こし、現在爆発的な成長軌道にある核融合、バイオテクノロジー、量子、AIなどのテクノロジーを有する企業に注目が集まりました。イノベーションの例は以下の通りです。
世界経済フォーラムの最新レポート「Space:The $1.8 Trillion Opportunity for Global Economic Growth(宇宙:グローバル経済成長1.8兆ドルの機会)」によると、宇宙産業は2023年の6300億ドルから、2035年には1兆8000億ドルに成長すると予測されています。2024年コホートには、Amini、constellr、Pixxel、Space Forge、SWISSto12、TelePIX、天地人、UNIO Enterpriseといった衛星の製造企業、宇宙で製造を行うインスペース・メーカー、宇宙データ企業を含む9社の宇宙関連企業が名を連ねており、この成長分野への期待と将来性を反映したものとなりました。
ニューロテクノロジーは、革新が急速に進んでいるもう一つの分野で、現在までに80億ドル以上のベンチャーキャピタルからの投資があり、その額は増加傾向にあります(投資市場データベースを扱うピッチブック社の記事によると、ニューロテクノロジー企業による2023年の資金調達額は14億ドルで、2022年の2倍となっています)。2024年のコホートには、BrainQ Technologies、Neurable、OpenBCI、そしてAIガバナンス・アライアンスに参加するNextSenseの4つのニューロテクノロジー新興企業が参画しています。
