Dr. Supheakmungkol Sarin is a seasoned technology leader with two decades of expertise in data and artificial intelligence, dedicated to leveraging technology for social good. Shaped by his experiences growing up in post-genocide Cambodia, he has been a steadfast champion of democratizing technology to advance global equity.

As the founder of AI Equity Advisory and an AI Expert to the United Nations Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Sarin is at the forefront of global AI governance. At the World Economic Forum, he served as the Head of Data and AI Ecosystems, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the AI Governance Alliance, co-led the Safe Systems and Technologies initiative, and spearheaded the inaugural AI Governance Summit. He also launched the Global Future Council on Data Equity, addressing critical inequalities in global data ecosystems. Additionally, Dr. Sarin was a member of the leadership team at the World Economic Forum's Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR), where he helped shape the development of frontier technologies across multiple domains.

During his tenure at Google, Dr. Sarin led initiatives to promote inclusive AI. His work enhanced digital inclusion across six emerging countries and advanced technologies in 35 under-resourced languages. Additionally, he oversaw the Crowdsource platform to improve fairness in machine learning across Google products. Overall, his efforts have impacted over a billion users, particularly in underserved communities.

As President of the Internet Society San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, he advocated for bridging the digital divide and promoting equitable internet governance. Dr. Sarin is an IEEE Senior Member and holds a Doctorate of Science from Waseda University. Authoring over 40 publications, he is a thought leader in data and AI/ML, as well as ethical and responsible technology governance.
