Pinar Akman

Professor of Law, Director at Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Digital Governance, University of Leeds

Pınar Akman is a Professor of Law specialising in competition (antitrust) law at the University of Leeds, where she is also a Director at the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Digital Governance. She received a Philip Leverhulme Prize (Leverhulme Trust) for her research exploring the application of competition law in the digital economy. She is the author of the sell-out book The Concept of Abuse in EU Competition Law: Law and Economics Approaches as well as numerous peer-reviewed articles in top academic journals. She has presented her research in over 20 countries around the world and advised and/or provided her expertise to numerous organisations including the IMF, US Federal Trade Commission, European Parliament, House of Lords, and World Economic Forum. She is a Non-Governmental Advisor at the International Competition Network.
