Belinda is the CEO of The Empathy Business, a consultancy that helps global organisations embed empathy into their culture, communications and leadership using AI. She is also a Non-Executive Director for the UK Ministry of Defence. She created the Empathy Index, first published in Harvard Business Review, pioneering the measurement of empathy as a driver of commercial performance.
Belinda leads Empathy & AI programmes inside major companies, auditing the language of AI products so that technology supports more human-centric businesses, prioritising people over process. Her approach led to a 20.9% reduction in complaints at AGL and a saving of $1.1 million. She is currently leading a global campaign on the hidden costs of outsourcing our empathy to AI.
A World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and recipient of an OBE for Services to Women in Technology, Belinda is a trained as a barrister. She believes that magic happens when the head meets the heart, when logic is fused with emotion, and when AI is designed to serve humanity.
