3 Leading Thinkers on How to Make AI Work for Humanity

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly developing and has the potential to revolutionize many aspects of our lives. However, there are also concerns that AI could be used for harmful purposes. In this video, three leading thinkers share their thoughts on how to make AI work for humanity.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a rapidly developing technology that has the potential to transform our lives in many ways. However, there is also a risk that AI could be used for harmful purposes. It is, therefore, important to ensure that AI is developed and used in a way that benefits humanity.

Cyrus Hodes

Cyrus Hodes is an AI author and entrepreneur. He believes that AI should be human-centred and that it should be used to solve the world's biggest problems. Hodes worked with the OECD to draft human-centred governing AI principles, which other countries have since adopted.

Cansu Canca

Cansu Canca is a philosopher and the founder and director of the AI Ethics Lab. She believes that AI reflects our own morality and that we need to prioritize strong ethical boundaries when developing AI systems. Canca argues that we can learn from the way that we regulate healthcare and that we need to develop similar ethical frameworks for AI.

Pascale Fung

Pascale Fung is a professor of computer science and the director of the Centre for AI Research at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She believes that we need to develop ways to control AI. Fung compares AI to a "powerful wild beast" and argues that we need to develop algorithms and methods to "tame" it.
