Valeria is a Master’s student in Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development at University College London (UCL) and a Fellow at Stanford University's McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society, where she researches ethical AI frameworks applied to the employment sector. She also serves as a Council Member on the Global Future Council on GovTech and Digital Public Infrastructure at the World Economic Forum.
Her leadership spans impactful initiatives in the Caribbean, where she implemented an AI tool to evaluate employment opportunities for vulnerable youth, awarded in 2022 by UNESCO’s International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI) as one of the top 100 initiatives advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Valeria’s extensive background in AI policy and regulation includes consulting for Spain, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil, as well as contributing to global initiatives such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s GovStack for digital government and AI in Government projects at the PIT Policy Lab.
Recognized by WIRED in 2024 as one of Latin America’s foremost female leaders in responsible AI, Valeria is helping to shape the region’s approach to ethical AI while bridging the gap between innovation and social impact.
