
How circular farming can build food security in arid lands
Desert agriculture rarely takes centre stage in global conversations around climate change and sustainability.
Shahad Nejaim is the Director of Sustainability at Al-Dabbagh Group (ADG), where she leads the Group’s sustainability agenda and works with its strategic portfolio companies to intentionally create value through sustainability. Shahad brings seven years of consulting experience to the role, where her foray was providing clients with tailored, stakeholder-specific, and research-driven public policy consultations. Prior to joining ADG, she spent four years as a McKinsey & Company consultant. She has served private and public sector clients across Europe, Middle East, and Africa on a range of projects, including growth strategies, and transformation and change management. Her clients ranged from healthcare institutions, private banks, and research centers to energy companies, retail conglomerates and government entities. Additionally, she led McKinsey’s Riyadh Office corporate social responsibility committee and scaled up two global McKinsey programs.
Shahad earned her Masters of Professional Studies in Public Relations & Corporate Communications from Georgetown University, where she specialized in crisis communication and reputation management. Shahad currently has a seat on four boards of directors and is a member of Tanmiah Food Company’s ESG Board Committee.
