Pekka Lundmark had almost 20 years’ experience as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) before joining Nokia as President and CEO in 2020. Over his career, he has accrued deep expertise in the telecommunications, technology, energy, machinery and finance sectors, all central to the transition into the Fourth Industrial Revolution which Nokia is enabling with its critical networking technology. Pekka’s career in fact started as an Account Manager at Nokia in 1990, helping oversee the company’s emergence as a key mobile phone and infrastructure player. Originally from Espoo, Finland, he earned a master’s degree in Information Systems from the former Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University) and his broad experience since includes working in Silicon Valley and Asia. Pekka has rightly earned a reputation as a dynamic and visionary leader, expert in adapting businesses to capitalize on coming trends. His many advisory roles include with the Climate Leadership Council and Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development.
