Ken is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Stanford. Ken\'s research focuses on the political economy of development, elections, democratic consolidation, and institutions. His dissertation, titled \"Institutions and Political Change: The Case of African Legislatures,\" explores how institutions of limited government can emerge from their autocratic foundations. Ken has worked, traveled, or done research in ten different African countries.
