Juan Manuel Martinez Louvier

Juan Manuel Martínez Louvier is a social economy strategist focused on building democratic economic models across Latin America. He served as Director General of Mexico’s National Institute for Social Economy (INAES) from 2018 to 2024, leading national policies that supported cooperative and solidarity-based enterprises.

He currently works with the governments of Mexico and Guatemala, as well as with international financial institutions and private sector partners, to develop strategies that strengthen collective ownership and economic inclusion. As a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Council on the Social Economy, he contributes to shaping policy frameworks that position SSE as a key driver of sustainable and resilient development. His work focuses on building large-scale cooperative platforms in energy, retail, finance, and digital infrastructure.
