James Wang

Ph.D. job market candidate, University of Michigan

James Wang is a Ph.D. job market candidate in economics at the University of Michigan with interests in applied microeconomics, industrial organization, and financial risk. His current projects analyze the role of information asymmetries in consumer lending. This includes screening default risk, examining private repayment incentives, and analyzing peer effects in delinquency. His research gives insights on structuring underwriting mechanisms and minimizing internal agency costs. Before starting his Ph.D., Mr. Wang received a B.S. in mathematics and B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago in 2007.
