Mission

An accelerator for bringing together tomorrow's industry leaders and support them in designing and driving a responsible industry transformation - while getting the world excited about its future frontiers and opportunities for younger generations.

Overview

There is a need for a new paradigm of leadership among industrials against a similar set of challenges: an aging workforce, rapidly evolving technologies and skills needs, pressure for greater focus on sustainability and purpose, gender diversity, reputation challenges, and unpredictable operating environments amongst others. Ensuring the resilience of these industries and enhancing their contributions to society will require revisiting many well-established paradigms and strong decision-making. This all calls for equipping the next generation of leaders with skills such as strategizing for future-proofing, capitalizing on technical innovations, executing transition, boosting sustainability and operational resilience, bolstering local and national economic development, and fostering industry-level collaboration.

These challenges cannot be approached only through siloed solutions. In order to transition to new ways of working and have an effective talent strategy, cross-industry collaboration is needed to build a next-generation leadership community and create a value-proposition for the industries for future talent.

To address these challenges, the World Economic Forum has launched a new community of rising industry leaders. They display a commitment to the advancement of industry and aspire to a career in manufacturing, heavy industries and production systems that is rewarding, inspiring and valuable to the global economy.

The community engages in the Forum's work and agenda to shape new ideas to transform and champion the industry to younger generations. They provide thought leadership and insights into the vital role of millennials and Generation Z in digital transformation, and take part in key projects and initiatives to advance the community’s mission.
