Formación de Líderes Ambientales

Problem Statement

Young people interested in environmental issues in Buenos Aires need to receive training and mentoring in socio-environmental issues, leadership and project creation in order to develop their own environment related projects.

Target Group

50 young people between 15 and 29 years old, from Buenos Aires City, interested in socio-environmental issues.

Proposed Solution:

The Environmental Leaders Training (Formación de Líderes Ambientales - FLA) is a three-months training where the participants will learn about the region’s socio-environmental problems, develop leadership skills and create impact projects. The Global Shapers from the Buenos Aires Hub will be in charge of the mentoring phase. Each shaper will be assigned a group of 5 trainees, and will provide them with tools to create and develop projects, giving feedback and accompanying them throughout the ideation and design or their solutions. 

Hub Activities:

2 in-person mentoring sessions of 1.5 hours to:

• Understand the initiative the participants want to develop.


• Give them feedback and tools to create and develop their project.


• Support them in the creation of a first prototype. 

1 online mentoring session of 1.5 hours to:

• Prepare the project pitch and rehearse the final event presentation.


• Accompany the participants in the final event presentation of their projects.

Short & Long-Term Goals/Results

Develop young leaders with knowledge about socio-environmental issues, project design and established foundations for their environment related projects.

• Amount of training carried out that provides tools on socio-environmental issues.


• Amount of people trained in socio-environmental issues, leadership and project creation


• Amount of solutions/initiatives related to education and awareness on climate change, mitigation and impact reduction.
