Distributing Warm Clothes
Winters are cold and freezing, the people who have warm clothes, are able to see the beauty of snow, but the people who are not equipped with the right clothing, are suffering from the same creation. The Global Shapers Community of Herat Hub, has tried to help the people in need, especially those who needed warm clothes for the winter.
The hub's committed team has effortlessly tried to collect warm clothes from the well-off and donate to the less fortunate. Starting from the first days of the winter, the team has distributed hundreds of clothing packages for both children and adults. Homeless children and adults on streets, AECC (Afghan Education Circus for Children ) Herat Circus, blind children of the Simon association, children of addicted women of the ARC center, and the orphan children of the Kabul servants council-Herat branch, were the main targets for this program. Thankfully, the hub was able to bring smiles on their faces and make their winter warmer.
The goals of the project were:
- Keeping the homeless and dislocated people warm in cold winter
- Encouraging our wealthy people to help the less fortunate and contribute to the community services
- Penetrating the cloth donating culture in society by showing the smiles on the faces of those who donate and receive
Project impact:
75 clothing packages were collected, sorted and distributed in the first round of the project. For the second round, the hub added 232 more packages for a total of 307 packages consisting of jackets, hats, jumpers, and socks. About 50 packages were for adults and others were for children.
