COVID vaccination drive in Navi Mumbai
Problem Statement:
Shortage of COVID-19 vaccination in Greater Mumbai and Navi Mumbai has been a concern for the residents, as their inoculation had been impeded due to the vaccination infrastructure getting overwhelmed. Quick filling up of available vaccination slots in public and private hospitals added to the concern.
Target Group:
The initiative was aimed at facilitating access to Covishield vaccine for the residents of the Navi Mumbai region. People aged 18 and above in Navi Mumbai were the target group.
Proposed Solution:
The project aimed at providing access to Covishield vaccine to the people in Navi Mumbai region within a matter of days. The hub contacted a residential society in Navi Mumbai and also acted as a liaison for Fortis Hospital to conduct a vaccination drive in the Sanpada region. By coordinating with the doctors in advance and executing seamless communication with the registered participants, the hub successfully organized a camp where over 300 people got vaccinated, out of which 55 participants were directly benefitted by the hub’s initiative.
Hub Activities:
The hub launched an online survey to gauge the interest levels of people for the vaccination drive. Once adequate number of registrations were received, the hub facilitated communication with all registrants online and partnered with Fortis Hospital to conduct a dedicated vaccination drive for the registrants.
The hub also facilitated the execution of the vaccination drive with Fortis Hospital and ensured harmonious implementation of the plan that was prepared in collaboration with Fortis Hospital. The participants were encouraged to spread awareness on the vaccination drive through a Global Shapers photobooth and through sharing of stories online.
