Problem Statement: In the fight against climate change and food waste, children in The Hague need to be educated on sustainable practices. Circle Hub' Project aims to address this issue by encouraging children to grow their own vegetables and fruits and engage in our education and sustainability projects. By collaborating with schools and the local community, the project hopes to raise awareness of the value of fresh, healthy food and sustainable consumption patterns among children, especially from low-income households.

Target Group: Children, especially children from a low-income households Proposed Solution: Our project is a community-based initiative that aims to address the climate crisis by promoting sustainable practices. Our pilot seeks to establish a community garden in the Hague that promotes sustainable practices and serves as a platform for educational activities for children on food sustainability. By promoting sustainable food systems and educating children on sustainable gardening practices, the project seeks to contribute to a more sustainable future. Through its focus on education and community involvement, the project provides a holistic solution that promotes sustainability, community building, and environmental stewardship..

Hub Activities:

• Organize educational activities for children in the community garden.


• Hosting sustainable workshops for children through our partnerships


• Work with local schools to fill in the educational gap on (future) sustainability

 Long term outcomes:

• Adoption of sustainable practices among children and families in the local community.


• Increased access to fresh, healthy food for families in the local community.


• Development of long-term partnerships with local businesses and institutions that share our vision of promoting sustainable food systems and reducing waste Cooling down of urban areas by regreening

Activities

• Make a stakeholders overview of private partners, partners and schools


• Organizing our first 3 to 5 workshops for children of different ages on gardening, plant care, and growing vegetables and fruits at Oranjeplein.


• Organizing our first 3 to 5 educational activities on sustainable practices, such as reducing food waste and the importance of sustainable consumption patterns at Spinozahof, Jacobahof, Oranjeplein, De Helena C
