Werner, Founder and Managing Director of New Venture Scouting (NVS), is an active player in the European innovation ecosystem; Werner possesses extensive experience in collaborating with universities to foster academic entrepreneurship ecosystem and bridges the world of corporates and startups to develop new business models. Besides his responsibilities at NVS, he serves in several boards as Invest Austria and is an active Business Angel. He also acts in an advisory capacity to the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics, as a member of the Start-up Council focused on startup issues. He has a broad experience in public administration and corporate world: From 2000-2007 Werner served as the Secretary-General of the Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Environment, Forestry, and Water Management. Subsequently, as the COO of REWE International AG, he spearheaded the initial incorporation of sustainability into the corporate strategy; Werner holds a Master's degree in Law from Karl-Franzens-University in Graz and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University
