Wei Ma

Postdoctoral Research Associate, Carnegie Mellon University

Dr Ma’s research lies in the intersection of transportation network modelling, machine learning, and big data analytics, with applications for sustainable and smart mobility systems. He primarily focuses on the understanding of spatio-temporal traffic dynamics and user behaviours using multi-source data, followed by managing large-scale transportation networks to achieve sustainability, reliability, and safety. Dr Ma is a fellow of Global Future Council in Mobility at the World Economic Forum (WEF), and he also serves as committee members of various conferences and seminars such as Continual and Multimodal Learning for Internet of Things, International Conference on Intelligent Transportation and Vehicle Engineering, and Emerging Mobility Systems and Services Seminar Series. Dr Ma has received awards for research excellence and his contributions to the area, including 2020 Mao Yisheng Outstanding Dissertation Award, Best presentation award at the Young Professionals Lightning Talk Session of the 23rd COTA Winter Symposium, and Best paper award (theoretical track) at INFORMS Data Mining and Decision Analytics Workshop.
