Prof.Tomohiro Fujita is the representative director and CEO of Chitose Laboratory Corp.since 2008, one of the members of the Bioeconomy Strategy Council in CABINET SECRETARIAT since 2019, and the program-specific professor of Lab for Circular Bioeconomy Development, Kyoto University since 2020. Prof.Fujita established 11 bio-startups among Asian countries, not only in Japan, but also Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, and conducts them. Prof.Fujita has been developing the new businesses, contributed to circular bioeconomy, and simultaneously biotechnology needed for them. Although Prof.Fujita's original background is Evolutionary Genetics, he engaged in studies of management ideas and perspectives which are essentials for launching new bio-businesses for years. Toward the goal of aiming for a society that will last for a thousand years, Prof. Fujita continues to find a better way to implement the latest biotechnology to the society in the forms of new businesses. Prof.Fujita obtained a master's degree from the graduate school of Agricultural and life science, faculty of Agriculture, The University of Tokyo, and he started his career as a strategic business consultant at Accenture Japan Ltd.
