Tim Wu is a Professor at the Columbia Law School. He is also a Future Tense Fellow at the New America Foundation, a writer for Slate Magazine, and until recently, Senior Adviser to the US Federal Trade Commission in Washington DC. Wu's field is innovation policy and the history of the media and technology industries. He is best known for coining the phrase “network neutrality” in his paper Network Neutrality, Broadband Discrimination. He is also the author of “The Master Switch, The Rise and Fall of Information Empires”, which was named among the best books of 2010 by The New Yorker magazine, Fortune magazine, and other publications. Wu clerked for Justice Stephen Breyer on the United States Supreme Court and Judge Richard Posner of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
