Taisuke Sasanuma

Representative Partner, Advantage Partners

Taisuke Sasanuma co-founded Advantage Partners in Tokyo in 1992 with Richard Folsom. After they launched two businesses, Advantage Partners established the first buyout fund in Japan in 1997, laying the foundation for the development of the country’s private equity industry. The firm has grown into a leading investment platform focused on Japan and Asia, with investment strategies spanning Japan Buyout, Asia Buyout, Private Solutions, Renewable Energy & Sustainability, and Real Estate. The group’s cumulative assets under management exceed approximately ¥1 trillion.

Taisuke began his career at Sekisui Chemical after graduating from Keio University. He subsequently worked as a consultant with Bain & Company Japan and Monitor Company. He has served as a part-time instructor at Keio Business School and as Chairman of the Japan Private Equity Association.

Taisuke holds a Bachelor of Laws and an MBA from Keio University, as well as a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.
