Mr. S.P. Lohia (72) is Chairman of Indorama Group (www.indorama.com) which (including its associates) encompasses 178 manufacturing sites across 39 countries around the world, employing over 51,000 people and generating an annual turnover of US$22 billion.
He founded Indorama Corporation in Indonesia in 1975 together with his father late Mr. M.L. Lohia.
He is also the Chairman of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, Thailand, which is listed on the Thai Stock Exchange (www.indoramaventures.com).
Mr. S. P. Lohia and his son Mr. Amit Lohia (Group Vice Chairman) have led Indorama Corp’s expansion over the past five decades. Starting as a single cotton yarn spinning operation in Indonesia, the group has made dramatic strides to become a global producer of essential materials, which includes fertilizers, polymers, fibers, yarns, and medical gloves – creating a foundation for delivering innovative solutions and shaping better lives.

A self-made billionaire, S.P. Lohia is ranked #373 on the 2025 Forbes Billionaires list and is recognized as a highly accomplished entrepreneur. Born in India–his family originates from the Marwari people of Rajasthan. He is a commerce graduate from the University of Delhi, has Indonesian citizenship, and speaks English, Hindi and Indonesian languages.
Mr. S.P. Lohia lives in London with his wife Seema Lohia and they have two children. Amit Lohia (a Finance graduate from the Wharton School of Business, USA) is a part of several organizations such as the Wharton Executive Board for EMEA and YPO. Mrs. Shruti Lohia (daughter of Mr. S P Lohia) has been involved with the Group’s medical gloves business since 2003 and focuses on women and child healthcare through a joint venture with the Kinder Group of Singapore, setting up specialist hospitals and medical centers providing pre and post-natal care for women and children in India. She is a post graduate in Business Management from Harvard University, USA.
The Lohia family also has recently made significant investments in real estate including Toscana Resort Castelfalfi in Italy, Mr. S.P. Lohia has amassed a notable collection of hand-colored rare books which has grown to more than 2,350 volumes.
