2009, degree in Industrial Engineering and Management with specialization in micro/nanosystems, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology; PhD, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich. Former: researcher, University of Canterbury, New Zealand, in the field of biomedical engineering and at the University of Kyoto, Japan, in the field of carbon nanotube based nanosensors; then joined the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, focussing on magnetic manipulation techniques for biomedical applications; then joined Laboratory for Multiscale Regenerative Therapies, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US, as Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of biomedical engineering. Co-Founder, MagnebotiX, a young spin-off from ETH. Recipient: ETH medal for doctoral thesis; fellowships, Swiss National Science Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service; Branco Weiss Fellowship, Society in Science, to pursue postdoctoral studies at MIT. Interested in applying microrobotic control strategies in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
