Shivraj Singh Chouhan is a strong champion of women's cause. As Chief Minister, he has taken several initiatives for creating a positive social attitude towards the girl child, improving the socio-economic security of women and their health, he has initiated remarkable 'Beti Bachao Abhiyaan' and the 'Ladli Laxmi Yojana. Chouhan has been striving to create an empowered MP by focusing on providing better education facilities and better employment opportunities to the state's youth. He rekindles a ray of hope among people, particularly weaker sections of society.

Born on Mar 5, 1959 at village Jait in Sehore district in a farmer's family, he is true son of the soil. He can easily identify himself with socio-economic concerns of farmers, villagers and commoners.
