Leads the Asia-Pacific R&D team and works with business partners and stakeholders to deliver innovations that help to grow and sustain the Coca-Cola business. Former General Manager, Mexico R&D Center. Has delivered several transformational innovations in new products that bring functional benefits to consumers. Joined Coca-Cola in 2005 in Global Packaging in the plastic packaging material area and moved to the role of Director of Global Packaging Research and Research Fellow in 2010, playing a key role in leading the innovation of Plant Bottle® packaging. 2012-16, led ETA (External Technology Acquisition), transformed the ETA capability and function and identified several technologies that are currently being implemented or are part of innovation pipeline. BSc in Chemistry, Peking University; MSc in Polymer Chemistry, University of Connecticut; PhD in Polymer Science, University of Akron. Inventor of over 35 US and world patents. Member of the Board, Georgia Tech Research Corporation (GTRC). Keynote speaker and panellist at international conferences on innovations in food and beverage and sustainable packaging areas, including: CBIA, TEDx, FBIF, MIT Media Lab, Global PET Strategies, The Packaging Conference, Nova Pack.
