Shantanu is a young community leader, social innovator and social entrepreneur. He believes in innovation as the key component in bringing social change, development, cohesion, empowerment of people and communities.
He is currently the Impact Officer of the Global Shapers Community Baramati Hub and has also contributed as Curator, Impact Officer, Treasurer, Project lead earlier in the hub. Here, he is actively involved in understanding the needs and challenges of rural communities and working to create socially inclusive, vibrant & sustainable rural communities in Baramati India. From 2020-He is actively contributing his expertise in community building, ground level execution, project planning and KPIs/impact measurement and impacting lives through Project Saamarthi, Project Grass and Roots and Project Forces of Change. He also looks after the financial planning for the projects of the hub as the Treasurer.
He is currently working as Planning and Logistics Executive at Cummins India, where he is involved in strategically building green and resilient supply chains.Also, working as a New Business Startup (NBS) Lead setting up a Greenfield Plant for Cummins Emission Solutions in India.
Shantanu has also founded “Wasteino”, with an aim to create local ecosystems so that there is value addition to the locally available agriculture and cattle waste which will empower the farmers and rural communities in India. At wasteino he innovates to create wealth out of waste by making biodegradable products out of waste as a replacement to plastic products and renewable energy out of waste.
From 2018 to 2020 he has lead “Team Ambush”, a group of young individuals which works with an ideology & goal to “Innovate, Design and Bring mechanisation in the field of agriculture in India by solving the farming challenges through mechanised solutions. The team participates in a National level competition organised by SAE India (Society of Automotive Engineers) namely SAE TIFAN (Technology Innovation Forum for Agricultural Nurturing). Team was able to successfully design and manufacture “Krushirath 3.0” (A self propelled 4 wheel onion harvester) which received All India Rank 1 and also received best design award. The event is organised by various organisations such as John Deere, Ansys, Mahindra, Cummins, Altair, BKT, ARAI, Kirloskar Engines, etc
He has also received various recognitions from the government of India and various other reputed institutions for his work in the field of nature-based solutions.
Shantanu is passionate advocate of nature-based solutions and creating inclusive developments putting forward sustainable models for creating social entrepreneurs from rural communities.
He loves connecting with people from the world who are and willing to drive change!
Shantanu holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He believes in going out and creating a meaningful impact!
