As a director in MIT Sloan School of Management Global Programs, Sarah Jane leads efforts to develop and catalyze regional innovation ecosystems globally. This is highlighted through her leadership of MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (MIT REAP), which fosters innovation and entrepreneurial (I&E) growth strategies for regions globally. Beyond MIT REAP, she works collaboratively with other ecosystem builders to accelerate innovation ecosystems whether it is within an institution or in a broader community.

Prior to her current position at MIT, Sarah Jane worked in and out of the public and private sector, focused on innovation ecosystem development across technology transfer, commercialization, and industry. Most recently, she managed and launched the U.S. Cluster Mapping Project (USCMP), which centers on industry-cluster growth strategies and regional economic development at Harvard Business School’s institute for Strategy and Competitiveness. She spent time working on innovation ecosystems, technology transfer, and commercialization at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and 17 DOE National Laboratories as well as during her time at Deloitte. She continues to advise start-up companies as well as incubators, accelerators, and prize/challenge initiatives globally. In addition, she spent significant time in Washington, D.C. working for President Obama’s Administration.

Originally from Colorado, Sarah Jane graduated from Duke University where she double majored in Policy and Cultural Anthropology, and minored in Dance.
