In April 2025, Mr. Pradhan was appointed President of The World Forum for Ethics in Business (WFEB). Launched in the aftermath of the 2008 global financial crisis, WFEB has convened leaders from business and government annually at the European Parliament and at multiple venues globally to showcase business leaders & practices that are both profitable and ethical.
From 2016 to 2025, Mr. Pradhan served as the CEO of the Open Government Partnership (OGP). Under Mr. Pradhan's leadership, OGP more than doubled in its membership to now encompass 77 member countries, 150 local governments and thousands of civil society organizations. As CEO, Mr. Pradhan served as the global spokesperson for OGP, leading high-level dialogue with Heads of States, parliamentarians, civil society leaders and international organizations. After concluding his tenure as CEO, Mr. Pradhan was appointed as OGP's Global Ambassador.
Prior to OGP, Mr. Pradhan served in three senior positions at the World Bank from 2008 to 2016: as the Vice President for Leadership, Learning and Innovation, the Vice President of the World Bank Institute, and the World Bank’s first Director for Governance.
Mr. Pradhan serves as a distinguished speaker on open governance and anticorruption issues, appearing in major world forums including the TED Global Conference, the UN General Assembly, the European Parliament, the BBC World Debate, London Anti-Corruption Summit, the International Anticorruption Conference, and OGP Global Summits in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
At the 2022 World Economic Forum Davos, Mr. Pradhan was awarded Social Innovator of the Year 2022 by The Schwab Foundation for being “a tireless champion of good governance and fighting corruption”.
Mr. Pradhan has published widely, and was a principal author of the 1997 World Development Report, The State in a Changing World. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University.
