Formerly, Editor-in-Chief, currently Chief International Correspondent and Executive Producer, NHK World, the English 24 hour news of Japan's largest public television network. Has been one of NHK's few women foreign correspondents, based in London, Bangkok and New York. Has covered world's conflicts, such as wars in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq and disasters such as the Indian Ocean tsunami. Has also cast news as anchor on two national news programmes, News 10 (2000-02) and Prime Time News (1996-96).
