Supervised the At-Risk Children’s programme, having handled the 4 social investment programmes (that directly impacted on 13m Nigerians) for the Federal Government of Nigeria, which are projects supervised between 2015 and 2019. Served on the Council of the National Human Rights Commission; Member of the Board, Coalition Against Tobacco; Served on several committees, including Kano State Almajiri Committee, President Goodluck Johnathan's Presidential Advisory Council, Northern Nigeria Governor's Committee on Reconciliation, Security Healing, and African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child. Also served on the Advisory Board of the Goalkeepers, a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In December 2009, founded Isa Wali Empowerment Initiative targeting the conditions of women and children in education, healthcare and empowerment. Have worked as a consultant to the Open Society Initiative for West Africa, UNICEF, the World Bank and DFID. Currently a Consultant to the U.N Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, providing strategy on how to engage and address the region with the worst poverty, out-of-school children and food security indices. The 7 States of the North West region are currently embattled by bandits, causing unrest and insecurity. Recipient of numerous honours and awards, including the National award of the Office of the Order of the Niger, the Schwab Public Social Intrapreneur and the McNulty Prize for the positive impact by the Isa Wali Empowerment Initiative in rural communities of Kano State.
