She is the Executive Director of Finanvivienda the Chamber of Social Housing Financing Entities.
She has studies in Business Management at the University of Costa Rica. She has experience in fundraising for several social organizations, as well as in the construction of temporary houses in slums. Marcela participated in the investigation of the National Cadastre of Human Settlements in Poverty Conditions in 2013 for the organization Techo. Marcela has been the Executive Director of Urbarium, a non-profit that for more than 20 years has been promoting the development of communities, where its population has access to adequate housing, She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Central American Association of Housing - Costa Rica Chapter. She has been the Representative of the Platform of Civil Society Organizations for the Achievement of the SDGs in the Costa Rican UN Consultative Committee.
