Manuel Rybach, Managing Director, is Global Head of Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs at Credit Suisse. In addition, he serves as Head of International Relations in the Chairman's Office.
Previously, he was Global Head of Public Affairs and Policy as well as Global Head of Corporate Citizenship and Foundations and the Managing Director of the Credit Suisse Foundation. He also served as Head of Public Policy APAC as well as Chief of Staff to the CEO APAC, based in Hong Kong, managed the Credit Suisse Research Institute and was Head of Governmental Affairs, based in Zurich. He has also been based in Singapore and Washington, DC, working on public policy issues. He started his career at Credit Suisse in the Economic Research department in Zurich, where he was a Senior Economist.
Manuel Rybach holds a doctorate degree from the University of St. Gallen (Dr. rer. publ. HSG), Switzerland, was a Swiss National Science Foundation scholarship recipient and a Visiting Scholar at both Columbia University Law School in New York, NY and Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC. He also completed an Executive Program at the Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, MA and studied at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). He is a Lecturer at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Hong Kong (HKU).
He is member of the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Global Future Council on Investing and served on the WEF’s Global Future Council on the Humanitarian System and the WEF's Global Agenda Council on the Future of Financing and Capital as well as the WEF’s Steering Committee on Promoting Global Financial Inclusion.
