Madeleine is an award-winning writer, director, producer and host traversing television, film, documentary, comedy and virtual reality.
In 2018 she directed the critically acclaimed 'Nanette' for Netflix and the sketch-comedy/documentary series, 'Corey White’s Roadmap To Paradise' and has written, directed and hosted observational documentaries for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), 'Meatwork' and the 'Maddie Parry' series.
Her first broadcast documentary, ‘Meatwork’, was awarded the 2013 Best Direction award by the Australian Director’s Guild (ADG) and her first short film, ‘Murder Mouth’, screened at Slamdance, St Kilda Film Festival, Bondi Film Festival and the CERN Cineglobe Film Festival among others, winning Best Film at Bondi FF, Cineglobe FF, Audience Choice Award at the South Australian Screen Awards and Best Grassroots at Brisbane Film Festival. It was nominated for Best Film at St Kilda FF and Best Short Documentary at the IF Awards. Her first broadcast series ‘Maddie Parry: Tough Jobs’, written, directed and hosted by Maddie, was an insight into the day to day world of workers an Australian abortion clinic, a brothel, an abattoir and those harvesting Australia’s beautiful native forest in Tasmania. The ‘Maddie Parry’ series was nominated for Best Documentary Series at the 2016 Australian Director’s Guild (ADG) Awards.
Madeleine has also produced radio for Triple J's current affairs program ‘Hack’, written for Australia's largest independent women's media group, Mamamia, sat on the Jury of the Adelaide Film Festival, worked as part of the team of the Human Rights and Arts Film Festival, contributed to the Virtual Reality programming team for Sydney Film Festival.
