I am the inaugural CEO of the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation. Founded in August 2021, GCMD is a non-profit organisation whose singular mission is to help international shipping eliminate its GHG emissions by (a) shaping the standards for future fuels; (b) piloting low-carbon solutions at or near commercial operations conditions; (c) co-finance first-of-a-kind projects; (d) foster collaboration across sectors. I am also the Theodora D. ’78 & William H. Walton III ’74 Professor in Engineering at Princeton University where I lead a team of researchers to develop emerging solar cell technologies based on hybrid and inorganic perovskites. And I co-founded Andluca Technologies, a startup that is developing wireless smart glass to reduce energy use and increase occupant comfort in built environments.
