Javon Knight

Javon Knight received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Economics, minor in spanish from the University of North Florida, and consequently received his Master’s degree in Public Policy from Jacksonville University. Currently he works as a Principal at Husch Blackwell Lobbying firm, in a unique position as he is both a registered Federal and State (Maryland) lobbyist. Through the private sector Javon seeks to aid in community development through the industry of his clients. Some of these clients include international non-profit organizations, transportation authorities, educational institutions and local governments.

Prior to his current role, Javon worked in the U.S. House of Representatives through a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Fellowship in the Office of Rep. Cleaver. During this experience he worked as a Legislative Assistant responsible for a policy portfolio covering a variety of policy areas.

Previous to that his work experience was primarily derived from the Financial Services industry; while a love for philanthropy, community and personal development has lead him to pursue a variety of community engagement opportunities. Examples of community engagement in the past include: his time on United Way’s Board of Directors, work with the Mayor’s Office, being appointed by the previous Mayor to a City of Jacksonville Committee, and helping to found Becoming Collegiate Academy K-5 Elementary School.
