Ian Buck is a management consultant, social entrepreneur, accountant and engineer. Through a deep passion to address climate change challenges and in light of the fourth industrial revolution, Ian is working at the nexus of technology, economics and strategy to disrupt, decarbonise, digitise and decentralise our energy system.

Ian has provided consulting and financial assurance services to multinational companies, governments, charities and startups through PwC and Accenture. This experience helped him work as an executive director and board member of Steer North, raising $108k for cancer research. He also regularly in business competitions UNLEASH, Climate KIC and Hult Prize.

Ian has also worked as a R&D Engineer for a waste water technology startup, designing waste water treatment solutions for industrial purposes using IoT. This experience led him to co-found his own tech start-up, to combat the urban heat island effect through proto-typing a sensor-centric, intelligent green infrastructure system.

He has been recognised for his work as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia honoree, Unleash Fellow, FYA Young Social Pioneer and EU-Australian Emerging Leader. He’s a Global Advisory Board member for Economists without Borders and a startup mentor at Energylab. Ian has a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce.
