Hector D Mujica

Technology Executive | Advisor on AI, Economic Opportunity & Public Trust, United States Senate

Hector Mujica is a technology executive and civic leader working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, economic opportunity, workforce transformation, and public policy.

Most recently, he served as Head of Americas Philanthropy & Economic Opportunity at Google.org, where he led a nearly $1 billion portfolio of investments advancing workforce development, AI readiness, economic mobility, disaster response, and small business growth across the Americas. His work helped expand access to technology and skills training, strengthen public-private partnerships, and prepare workers and communities for a rapidly changing economy.

Earlier in his career, Hector served in the U.S. Department of State and on Capitol Hill, experiences that shaped his belief in the importance of institutions, cross-sector collaboration, and public service. In 2026, he was a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, where he focused on issues including AI, economic opportunity, democratic resilience, and restoring public trust.

A first-generation American raised in South Florida by Venezuelan immigrant parents, Hector's commitment to service was shaped by watching his father serve as a pastor and community leader. Those early experiences instilled a belief that leadership is ultimately about expanding opportunity and creating pathways for others to thrive.

Hector has served on the boards of the Hispanic Federation, Hispanics in Philanthropy, the Latino Community Foundation, and the Aspen Institute's Latinos & Society Program. He is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, a Marshall Memorial Fellow, and a graduate of Florida International University and the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley.

Today, Hector advises and collaborates with leaders across business, government, philanthropy, and civil society on how artificial intelligence can expand opportunity, strengthen institutions, and ensure technological progress benefits society broadly.
