Eugene Chung is a globally-recognized AR / VR influencer, filmmaker, investor and the founder of Penrose, a start-up focused on building the blockchain metaverse. His work has been celebrated by major film festivals including Sundance and Tribeca, and is a top thought leader in VR, gaming and crypto. Chung's latest work, “Arden's Wake", won the first Lion awarded for Best VR at the 74th Venice International Film Festival. Chung has participated in several key domestic and international conferences where he discussed the evolution and growth of AR / VR, including the Consumer Electronics Show, Oculus Connect, WebSummit, TechCrunch Disrupt, and was recognized by Goldman Sachs as one of the top Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs. Previously, he was Head of Film & Media and Co-Founder of Story Studio at Oculus VR, which was later acquired by Facebook for $2 billion. Prior to Oculus, he was in production at Pixar Animation Studios, a private equity investor at Warburg Pincus and an investment banker at Morgan Stanley. Chung graduated Valedictorian from Robinson Secondary School. He earned his BS degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar (top 5% of class).
