Elaine Montegriffo is CEO of LiverWELL, advocating and mobilising action to address the liver health crisis in Australia. With 1 in 3 people affected by metabolic dysfunction associated steototic liver disease (MASLD) rates of liver disease and liver cancer are escalating. This highly prevalent disease is preventable and LiverWELL is leading advocacy for action and mobilising investment to make MASLD a national public health priority. Elaine was CEO of Australian social enterprise SecondBite, partnering with national supermarket chains and food producers to rescue surplus fresh food, reducing carbon emissions from food waste and providing nutritious fresh food for vulnerable communities. She has held leadership roles at Oxfam and Australian Red Cross, is a member of the Victorian Medical Board of Australia regulatory body, and has served on the boards of GenWest supporting victim survivors of family violence and advocating for gender equity, and Environment Victoria a community based advocacy organisation.
