Degree in Geography, Brasenose College Oxford; MBA from Harvard Business School. Worked for Bank of America, McKinsey and Credit Suisse and started own financial advice business before working for George Osborne as a Political Adviser. Elected as Member of Parliament for the Devizes Constituency in 2010 and again in 2015 and 2017. Since entering Parliament, has served on the Justice Select Committee, represented Britain at the Council of Europe, worked as a PPS to the Secretary of State for Defence and Special Adviser on Child Internet Safety to the Prime Minister. Served as a Government Whip from 2013-14 and as Minister of Railways from 2014-16. Appointed Minister of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on 12 June 2017, responsible for: industrial strategy; climate change, including carbon budgets, international climate change, including international climate fund, climate science and innovation, green finance, energy efficiency and heat, including fuel poverty; industry and enterprise, including advanced manufacturing, materials, including steel and chemicals, automotive. Achieved two rowing Blues at Brasenose College Oxford.
