Binoy Job

Chosen as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2012, Binoy Job is an institution builder, public leadership advisor and policy innovator. Binoy has a rare distinction of advising a Prime Minister, as Director, Prime Minister’s Office and being mentored by a President of India (Dr Manmohan Singh and Dr A P J Abdul Kalam respectively). This ‘ideas man’, as he is fondly described by his colleagues from multiple organisations, was one of the eight professionals chosen from the private sector to join the team of Prime Minister’s advisors. His gift for ideas was spotted by Brajesh Mishra, Chief of Staff and NSA to another former Prime Minister, Mr. A B Vajpayee. Later he was invited by his successor Dr Singh in the PMO after he and his Chief of Staff, Mr Nair, who was also advisor to several Prime Ministers including Mr Vajpayee, found his policy ideas and leadership initiatives useful for the nation. He was invited by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the then Prime Minister to advise him on Public Policy, Communications and Global Leadership. Binoy was also a Spokesperson to the Prime Minister.
Specialised in public policy, leadership strategy and communications, this innovative CEO has Leadership level achievements in diverse fields such as Industry, Government, Media, Entrepreneurship and Civil Society. Before this, he headed a sectoral apex industry chamber in India as its Secretary-General (CEO) following a 5-year stint as Director, Prime Minister’s Office- the youngest executive to hold both these positions. The fact that he earned these coveted positions and excelled in multiple fields even before he turned 40 makes him a multi-faceted global achiever.
As a CEO he achieved highest YoY profit in its 60-year history for the apex industry body and as a policy advisor, he conceptualised a record number of more than 100 policy ideas that went on to become parliamentary legislations. Through these initiatives, he has inspired more than a million youth to become socially responsible citizens and future leaders. Most of these youth leadership initiatives were created under the mentoring of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, former President of India. For his contribution in bringing about social change, for his Thought Leadership and for his professional excellence in diverse leadership positions, he has been honoured with the ‘Young Global Leader’ award by the World Economic Forum, ‘Emerging Leader Fellowship’ at Melbourne University, ‘Chevening Fellowship for Leadership and Excellence’ at London School of Economics(LSE), ‘Asia Young Leader’ by the Asia Society and also chosen for the ‘International Leadership’ program by the US State Department.
