I am a strong, female and a motivated environmentalist who has a keen interest in the sustainable development of Guyana’s natural resources. Since 2014, I am the Project Officer at the Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Secretariat, Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC), working on the FLEGT trade agreement. My responsibilities in that framework are drafting numerous key sections of the agreement before their presentations for negotiations to the European Union. I have also assessed GFC’s verification system used to measure compliance of forestry operators. I have implemented work programs, supervised field teams and contributed to the update of GFC’s guiding documents. I completed my degree in Environmental Studies and I obtained credentials in project management. I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Carbon Management. \\Apart from my love of travelling to the forested regions of Guyana, I am very passionate about volunteerism and abstract art.
