Ali holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Brunel University (UK) and double master’s degrees in Global Business (University of Hertfordshire, UK) and International Business Development & Consulting (Novancia Business School, France). He joined Martin Dow Group in 2016, completing a comprehensive orientation program in various business functions, including Marketing, Finance, Business Development, Human Resources, and Regulatory Affairs.
As the group’s Business Development Lead in 2017, Ali successfully launched several new products, driving business growth and expanding the company's portfolio. As Chairman, he guides the group's strategic acquisitions, technological innovation, and talent development. Under his leadership, Martin Dow Group has expanded its global partnerships, industry influence, and commitment to social responsibility, cementing its position as a leading player in the pharmaceutical industry.
Ali is deeply passionate about addressing climate change and promoting sustainability. He believes that businesses have a critical role to play in mitigating the impact of climate change and is committed to integrating sustainable practices throughout Martin Dow Group's operations. Under his leadership, the company has initiated several sustainability initiatives, including reducing carbon emissions, implementing eco-friendly manufacturing processes, and promoting environmentally responsible supply chain practices.
Ali is also dedicated to philanthropy, serving as a Core Committee Member of the Shaukat Khanum Karachi Project, a Member of the Fund-Raising Committee at The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), and a Trustee at the Memon Health & Education Foundation. His commitment to giving back to the community is reflected in his leadership of various initiatives aimed at improving healthcare access and education.
In tribute to his late father, Mr. Mohammad Jawed Akhai, Ali established the Mohammad Jawed Akhai Foundation (MJAF), a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving healthcare, education, and social welfare in underserved communities. Through this foundation, Ali aims to carry forward his father's legacy of compassion and generosity, providing vital support to those in need and driving positive change in society.
Ali was selected as the Youngest Global Leader from Pakistan (2023) by the World Economic Forum, recognizing his outstanding leadership and commitment to social impact. He also serves as the Council Member of the Marketing Association of Pakistan.
