Yachay will be the first hub of knowledge of Ecuador and Latin America. It is being built on an area of 4,270 hectares in San Miguel de Urcuquí, Imbabura Province and will be home to the first scientific research and experimental technology university of the country. It will also house public and private research institutes, technology transfer centres, high-tech enterprises and the agricultural and agribusiness community of Ecuador. It is designed for the development of technological innovation and knowledge intensive business.
