Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. (SAIC) listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 1997. Restructured in 2006, it is the largest listed vehicle-making corporation on the Chinese A-share stock market. By the end of 2008, it had a total capital stock of 6.55 billion shares, consolidated total assets of RMB107.86 billion and 60,000 employees.
