The State of Qatar’s government apparatus consists of the Council of Ministers, ministries, supreme councils and government bodies. The system of governance in the country is based on the separation of powers. The executive power is headed by His Highness the Amir, with the help of the Council of Ministers. The Advisory Council represents the legislative power. The judicial power is vested in the courts in accordance with the Constitution. Court rulings are handed out in the name of HH the Amir.
