Jain Irrigation Systems, a listed company founded in 1963 in India, has more than 10,000 employees and a market capitalization of more than $3 billion. It is active in irrigation and piping products, plastic sheets, dehydrated foods, fruit puree and juice concentrates, greenhouses, tissue culture, solar pumps, solar heating and lighting systems, etc. It is the largest processor of thermoplastics in India, with annual turnover exceeding $860 million. It has established a non-banking financial company to provide access to finance input purchases by smallholders.
