Dr. Vincent Biruta is the current Minister of Natural resources (MINIRENA) in the government of Rwanda. He served as Minister of Education since December 2011. Prior to his appointment, he was the President of the Rwandan Senate, a post he held from August 2003. He also served as the President of the National Transition Assembly from January 2000 to August 2003, Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communication from 1999 to 2000 and Minister of Health from 1997 to 1999. Dr. Biruta is a qualified physician. He has furthered his studies in Planning and Management of Health Services in Developing Countries at the Universitaire Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.
