Purva Jain is an Energy Specialist (Gas & International Advocacy) at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), with over 12 years of experience at the intersection of energy, finance, and sustainable development.
Her work spans renewable energy, energy policy reforms, clean mobility, climate finance, and international climate advocacy, including G20 and COP engagements, while advancing viable alternatives to gas in industry, transport, and cooking.
She has collaborated with UNDP, the Asian Development Bank, and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), and spent three years at India’s Ministry of Finance shaping international economic engagements. Purva has advised on energy innovation, evaluated sovereign projects through a climate lens, and co-authored research on electricity subsidy reforms, LNG infrastructure, and G20 utilities benchmarking.
Her recent work includes assessing the viability of LNG trucks in India, promoting electric cooking as a clean energy solution, and recommending policies to scale biogas adoption.
She holds a BA in Economics from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, and an MA in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
