Markus Kirchschlager

Global Shaper, Munich Hub

Markus Kirchschlager is an entrepreneur and advisor at the intersection of communications and technology. He works with DAX-40 companies, investors, as well as founders. A trained computer scientist and strategy consultant, Markus serves as a Future50 Leader in the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Community, in Collaboration with the Forum's Global Foresight Network.

He brings long-term thinking into decision-making and governance, with a focus on intergenerational fairness and innovation ecosystems across Communications, AI and DefenceTech.

Markus studied at the Department of Knowledge and Communication Management (Danube University Krems) and earned his MBA in finance from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He is an alumnus of the Global Advancement Programme and the Centre International de Formation Européenne.

Before founding, he served as spokesperson for the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and led political campaigns, EU public affairs, and communication strategies in both Brussels and Vienna. His work has received the Austrian State Prize for Europe and the International Electoral Award.

He volunteers as a Global Shaper, is a member of the European Commission’s Team Europe, and serves on boards at the Kaufmanns-Casino Munich and the Executive Academy of WU Vienna. Markus previously held leadership roles in the Austrian National Youth Council, the European Youth Parliament, and the Order of Malta's integration network.
